Gen Con 2010 Events |
|
Vanguish, Gvey and I are hosting two TMG events at Gencon this year.
The newly consoldated North American ruleset will be in force: Links to rules:
http://snaggletoothgames.com/downloads/
http://snaggletoothgames.com/downloads/rules/North%20American%20Tournament%20Rules%20v1.doc
I have set a price of $12 for the tournament and $6.00 for the fun events. Most of this goes to Gen Con to pay for event space, but we will use the balance to provide prizes.
See you in Indy.
Event Numbers:
Tournament NMN1013047 Thurday 8/5 4pm Location: Corridor to Hall F Tables 33-36
1500 Point Armies, Frodo rules in effect. ROTK promos are legal with the exception of PR071 (Frodo). 5 round swiss tournament (unless we have so few players we can do a round robin). 16 spots available.
Fun Event NMN1013049 Saturday 8/7 4pm Location: Corridor to Hall F Tables 33 -34
Fight one of the great battles of Middle Earth on a Heroscape tile map. Set Armies will be provided for this event. No Frodo rules for this event (Frodo is busy elsewhere during this battle...)
Event Registration is underway. As of 7/10 there are 11 slots left in the Championship event and 0 in the Fun Event. Come on people, are we really going to have a six player North American Championship? Player roster so far:

I received notice that the events have been accepted for review. Date and time are not confirmed at this point.
Event registration opens April 11th. Our events may not be in the initial event listing based on the review date, but I will post as soon as they are confirmed.

Our events are in the preliminary program!
Same time and game numbers as listed above.
Registration opens April 11th. I have put in 16 spots for the tournament and 8 for the fun event.
I will be very surprised if we sell out, but in the event that you are unable to obtain a ticket, post a message here, buy some generic tickets and we will do our best to work you in.

1500 points. Frodo rules in effect for the Championship, not in effect for the Fun Event.
Here is where 3.2 can be found:
http://www.snaggletoothgames.com/downloads/index.html
You also need to pay attention to the rules addendum file. That one needs to be updated as there are 2008 changes as well. Here is a link to the 08 changes.
http://snaggletoothgames.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=877
I hope we can get all the changes into a single document that will find a home on the download page, but this will get you going. Now done! See first post.

I got my tickets for both events.
I read in your GenCon message that all ROTK promos are legal. Does this include the promo Frodo?

>Forehead slap<
Doh!
I forgot about the speedy little halfling. On the one had, he is a problem. On the other, I think I put that in the event description and if the only thing people read is the event description, then they may show up with an army based on that figure with little chance to modify.
I did post a link to this site, so we could post the modification here. I can also try to modify the GenCon listing.
Your thoughts?

I think we've got to modify the listing somehow. Is that possible at this point?
But just this discussion we are having will tell anyone that the promo Frodo is off-limits. They should be checking this site for more info.
Just to clarify, we are talking about the the RK promo Frodo, PR071. The problem with this awesome piece is it has Fast for 1, Sneak for 1, and 5 AP's. This allows Frodo on the right map to get off the other side in TWO moves (with running). The Captains feel that this piece is so over the top that it should be banned. Yes, there are defenses against it, but the problem is that Frodo can get off before an opponent can set up his defense.

OK, I will work on the change.
While I was certain I had put the 1500 pt., Frodo rules, ROTK promo information in the event listing, it is not there in what was published. I will work on adding that information to the GenCon site. In the meantime, we have the information here and the event listing directs people here. So far we have only one player who has not been to CinciCon (jdtenor) and he is on this site now.

Location information is now available. Both events are in "Corridor to Hall F" table 33+.
That will work well for me as my Heroscape events are in Hall F.

Pre registration ends June 19th. After that date badges and tickets can not be shipped, but must be picked up at will call. Those lines tend to be long on the first day. So if you are coming, get yourself pre registered!
